He cleared HPAS as BDO ( Block Development Officer) (2nd Attempt)
About BDO: Implementing schemes of rural development and planning of state and centre.
BDO : Ramanveer Chauhan
Hi everyone, I am Ramanveer Chauhan. Right now I am working as a Block Development Officer in Una. Earlier I was BDO Kandaghat in district Solan and also remained BDO Bhawanagar in District Kinnaur.
I am sharing my journey and experience on this platform in a hope that somewhere, someone may get inspire and what else can be better than that.
My story is more of a carrier changing story rather than a failure -a success story. I grew up in a small village and I had most of my basic education from a government school in that village, which is in District Sirmour, HP. To get my basic education I had to commute 6 km’s every single day on foot as there was no road from my place to my school.
I was good at studies so my parents sent me to a boarding school ( Sarswati Vidya Mandir ) in Shimla where I did my 11th and 12th standard in non-medical. I was the topper in the school. After that, I cracked AIEEE on the first attempt without any coaching and got a decent College ( Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology) in Allahabad. I went there to pursue BTech in Electronics and Communication. After graduation when I came back in 2014 there were many things running in my mind, Maybe I will go for MTECH or go abroad or join some job in a big company.
I hail from a political family so I was thinking in that direction also. I honestly had decent opportunities at that time but something struck me. I wanted to stay in my state with my own people and wanted to do something for them.
I set my mind and took some brave changes to relaunch my carrier in a more meaningful direction. My first attempt at the civil service Examination was in 2014 without much preparation and coaching just for the experience. After giving the exam I developed a kind of confidence that yes I can do it. All I need is proper guidance and dedication. I went to Delhi for coaching and cracked HPAS Examination in 2015 and here I am today at this platform doing what I wanted to do and progressing day by day.
It makes no difference whether you come from a small village or small school even if your parents earn more or less, or you have the opportunity to simply secure your future by carrying your family business. But If you have your own dreams you have to overcome practical challenges, emotional hurdles, and personal struggles then you can achieve even the impossible. Don’t go with the flow, think beyond that. Follow your dreams and try your best to achieve them.
Good luck!
Thank you all
