Hello Everyone

My name is Rakesh and I am a resident of a tiny Village of Post Office Jaunta, Tehsil Nurpur, District Kangra, Himachal Pradesh.
Currently, I am an Assistant Manager in National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD), posted in NABARD, Jammu and Kashmir, Regional Office.

I have done my B.Com from Govt. Arya Degree College Nurpur and Post Graduation in Economics from Central University of Himachal Pradesh Dharamshala.

My journey of struggle was started from my PG i.e. the year 2015. During my PG I started preparation for banking exams (Commercial Banks as well as RBI and NABARD). Most of the time I had cleared preliminary examinations but failed in the mains exams. I had cleared NABARD Grade A and RBI Grade B pre-exam in 2018 but unfortunately couldn’t clear the mains exams of both of the examinations. I got disappointed but I was very clear from my mind ki “main fail Huya hun par failure nahi hun”.

As I was pursuing my Master in Economics So simultaneously I started preparation for UGC NET/JRF exam and that was my plan B. Fortunately, in my 3rd Semester of PG, I cleared the UGC NET exam. Clearing the UGC NET exam was 1st small achievement in my life. After completion of my PG, I thought to enrol in P.hD. I cleared screening tests as well as personal interview and was selected in PhD. In the 2nd semester of my PhD, I had also cleared UGC Junior Research Fellowship (JRF). I didn’t stop there and also cleared the HP SET exam.

This life is not so easy but I am also a man who accept challenges. The challenge that stood in my front was my topic of research on which I was doing my PhD. To find out the sample data i.e. pure organic farmers for my thesis I started my travelling from Himachal to Uttarakhand then Uttar Pradesh and lastly Haryana but couldn’t found pure organic farmers in these states. This was the time of complete frustration in my life and even at one time I reached a stage to quit my PhD. But, fortunately, in 2020 I cleared the NABARD Grade A exam (specialist in Economics). That was the day I took a deep breath. Suddenly I heard this news, after few days packed my bags and went to Lucknow for my induction training. After training, I was allotted NABARD, Jammu and Kashmir Regional Office.

Tips for Students:

Never quit in life.
There should be plan B in your life if plan A failed you can adopt plan B.
Be mentally fit for the competition.
Students who are preparing for the NABARD exam may focus on the following study material:
As NABARD is an agricultural and rural development bank so read all basic issues related to Agriculture and Rural economy.
You are supposed to be well aware of all the schemes related to the agriculture and rural sector.
Read thoroughly Economic Survey and Union Budget.
This was my whole success and struggle story.

All the very best for all Aspirants.
