(Success story of an Aspirant who cleared HPAS as a Block Development Officer (BDO) while doing job in the private sector )
About HPAS – HPAS is the Highest and most difficult competitive exam in HP…..
BDO – Bhanu Pratap Singh Thakur…..
Hi
My name is Bhanu Partap Singh Thakur
I am from village Bhanjraru tehsil Churah distt Chamba
I have done my schooling till 5th class from BSP central school Tissa
After that, I studied at boarding school in Dalhousie till 10th and have done my 12th from Chandigarh
I did my B. Tech from BCET Gurdaspur in CSE and did my MBA in marketing and operations from Panjab University. After my PG I worked in Tata teleservices and started preparing for civil services
I was selected as BDO in HPAS 2019 and it was my first attempt for mains .
Some tips that I would like to share with fellow aspirants are::–
0. Work on weaknesses: It is the most important aspect to clear any exam because doing no make to merit due to this reason for example if you are struggling in mains dedicate more time to answer writing.
0. Know the pattern of exam: Go through previous years question also go through syllabus thoroughly so that you can know what are requirements for the examination and you prepare accordingly
0. Plan: you should have a plan ahead of you like I preferred weekly targets which I would accomplish throughout the week and try revising them on Sunday or also tried doing questions related to those topics
0. Practice: Always do practice not only for prelims but also for mains prepare a schedule try attempting at least 2-3 mains questions daily it will not only increase your speed but also reduce your thinking time during the real exam
0. Holistic preparation: By that I mean you should be prepared for prelims mains and interview and devote time to all these(interview at last stage only). I have seen many people preparing for mains after they clear prelims but this approach, in my opinion, isn’t right as you should cover mains before the prelims plan that way divide time for both.
0. Optional: Chose any subject which you like and love to study don’t go by trends etc because anything which is good for someone else may not be good for you.
At last, would like to wish all of you all the best may you all achieve your dreams and aspirations.
PS:- Stay positive and never hesitate to work hard.
Adios
Thank you.
