A story of a middle-class boy who actually wanted to join ARMY or PARA
MILITARY forces but accidentally became a MECHANICAL ENGINEER and then a BANKER
Hello guys,
My name is PARDEEP HAPPY hail from vill. Raipur P.O. Sullah Teh. Palampur Distt.
Kangra. I’m currently working in clerical cadre in STATE BANK OF INDIA. So presently I
am a BANKER.
I have done my schooling from Z.A.V. Public School Sullah up to 10th standard then after
10+2 from Govt. Senior School Sullah. Both these schools were 2 km away from my home. In
the early years of my school days, I was not good in studies but with time I kept
improving day by day. When I was in 5th standard I scored good marks in all the subjects and
from there my confidence in studies started building up. In the 10th board exams, I scored 83%
marks and earned Rs. 10,000 as scholarship money which is still with me in my bank
account. When I was in 9th standard I went to Kashmir with my father who is working in
B.S.F. I was inspired by him because of his dress and weapons and told him that I also want
to join the Defence force but he knows how difficult his life is. He straight away denied it and told
me that you will not join any force.
After passing the 10th class I did my +1 and +2 in non-medical science. I scored 70% in 10+2.
After that, I appeared in AIEEE (All Indian Engineering Entrance Examination) and scored
only 35 to 40 marks. After that, my father told me to get admission to engineering college.
And in 2011 I got admission to EMAX GROUP OF INSTITUTIONS AMBALA which
comes under KURUKSHETRA UNIVERSITY. While pursuing mechanical engineering I
gave up the dream to join the defence forces. After completing my engineering in 2015 I searched for a job like every person after graduation. After searching for jobs in Delhi, Gurgaon,
Faridabad, Chandigarh, Baddi and contacting every person I know, I didn’t get a job after
completing 6-8 months of my engineering. At that time I was very depressed and helpless
because I was under immense pressure that my family had invested 6-7 lakhs on my studies and I was
giving zero output. In January 2016 I thought there was only one person who could help me get
out of this situation and that was who I am myself. On that day I told my parents that I want
to study for competitive exams and they agreed. And then I took the decision that I will do the only
govt. job or otherwise do anything else in life but not a private job. From there I started
preparing myself for SSC EXAMS and started giving all SSC EXAMS whether it was SSC
MTS, SSC CHSL, SSC CPO CAPF OR SSC CGL. But I also filled BANK and
INSURANCE EXAMS, and also STATE GOVT exams as well. I also filled an exam which had
only 1 or 2 vacancies. Firstly I started preparing myself by self-study but it was difficult for
me to understand the concepts because I was from an engineering background and after 6 month
I joined the coaching centre at Chandigarh for 3 months which was BRIGHT ACADEMY.
After 3 months of coaching at Chandigarh, I returned home started self-study for nearly 10
hours daily and kept revising the concepts which I had learned in coaching. But due to SSC
SCAM and long procedure involved in the SSC EXAMS I switched completely to Banking
side though I scored well in SSC EXAM but couldn’t clear mains of SSC CGL and rejected in SSC CPO in physical examination. In 2017 I have started clearing all prelims exams but getting failed in mains exams then I realized that, I have to raise my learning
standard to clear the mains examination. Then I started giving daily mock tests and revising
the concepts and learning new concepts through YOUTUBE. And on 21 SEPT 2018 I clear
the SBI CLERICAL exam. In these 3 years, I have cleared all prelim exams whether it was
P.O. or CLERKS. Those 3 years were a very tough phase of my life. Many times I felt
demotivated and alone. People said so many wrong things about me and my future. They
laughed at me and my parents. But my parents and my Mama had a lot of faith in me that I
would get a job very soon. Because they knew about my hard work. In those 3 years, I hardly
used Facebook or any other social media account. I just focused on my studies and with every
failure, I became more experienced. And using that experience I have cleared SBI EXAM.
And in the last, I will only say that there is the only person who knows you very good in this
universe in only you yourself and your parents. So start believing in yourself and your
parents. Because there is only one person after yourself who always think good about you is
your parents. I love my parents(Mr. Bhupinder Singh and Mrs Pawna Devi) very much
because I am here only because of them. In my case, there are two persons also there my Mama
(Surender Kumar) and my friend (Sanjeev) who supported me immensely during my bad
phase of life.
THANK YOU
